Zilliacus: I want to buy Inter Milan

Finnish tech entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus has announced he wants to buy Inter Milan.

Zilliacus, who made a late attempt for Manchester United last season, discussed his plans with SemperInter.com.

He stated: "I have said publicly that I am interested in buying Inter. However, there must be an interest from part of the current ownership to also sell Inter and I'm not sure if that's what they want to do.

"I read statements from Suning in which they said that their commitment to Inter is long-term. And I want to respect their will, I don't want to be intrusive. Without going into details, I can say that there are no direct negotiations underway at the moment. But I don't want to go into further details. I have too much respect for the Zhang family and the club officials."

Zilliacus continued: "As an owner you have the privilege of owning the club and with the privilege comes responsibility. And that responsibility means you have to leave the club in a better state than when you took over. If I ever had this privilege, my job would be to make the club better than when I arrived. It would be an incredible opportunity. It's a wonderful club with a huge passionate fan base around the world. Of course, those who live in Italy and Milan have a fire for the club that perhaps burns brighter than those who come from abroad."
