Finnish tech entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus has announced a bid will be tabled for Inter Milan over the next week.
After this morning's announcement that XXI Century Capital had raised $2.5bn, Zilliacus spoke to La Repubblica about his plans for Inter.
He declared, "I'm serious, this week or next week at the latest the current ownership of Inter will receive an adequate proposal from me for the purchase of the club. The entity which will present the proposal is XXI Century Capital, which raised the money.
"It is based in Singapore, has two subsidiaries: Football and Fashion. I don't want to invest in more clubs, I want to create a direct line with the Inter fan base, creating value and profit. I can do everything on my own, even if it's nicer to invest with partners.
"I haven't heard from (Inter president Steven) Zhang for a few months, since then I've been talking to the banks he trusted."
Zilliacus then spoke about possible members: "I would like to have operational partners who share my vision, but I want to be sure that they share my idea on how to manage the club, that they see the future as I see it.
"Who has committed to XXI Century Capital? Various identities, small and large, families and institutional investors. Arab shareholders? I won't name names and I don't want to go into similar details. I have raised capital in various areas, this is enough."
