Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is at odds with his board over their midfield signing plans.
AS says Zidane is losing support inside the board room over his push to bring Manchester United ace Paul Pogba to Real.
Instead, Real president Florentino Perez and his directors would prefer to sign Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen. As the Dane has a year to run on his current deal, he would represent the cheaper option for Perez.
Along with the financial aspect, the board also believes Eriksen is the better option in terms of character and discipline.
Perez met face-to-face with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy on Friday during the UEFA gala dinner in Madrid where Eriksen's name was raised.
