Zenit confirm Tottenham's Pavlyuchenko no longer of interest

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will not be moving to Zenit St Petersburg after previously having had a load deal turned down. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he is ready to allow the unsettled Russia international to leave White Hart Lane.

The Russian outfit were keen to land Pavlyuchenko earlier in January but saw their attempts to secure his services on loan rebuffed by the White Hart Lane club.

And director of football Igor Korneev insists they have no plans to resurrect their interest in the former Spartak Moscow man, who could still head back to his former club.

Korneev told Sovetsky Sport: "The situation with Pavlyuchenko is clear - we are no longer interested in the player."
