Zenit St Petersburg have completed the loan signing of Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin.

The 30-year-old started his career at Zenit before moving to north London in early 2009 and they had claimed earlier this week they had been in talks with the player.

The Russian club said on their website: "Arshavin is back!"

They added: "FC Zenit welcomes the return of Andrey Arshavin to St Petersburg." The player himself said on Twitter: "It's done."

Arshavin has made 98 league appearances, scoring 23 goals, and 133 appearances in total for the Gunners.
