Zenit St Petersburg boss Luciano Spalletti expects Francesco Totti to stay with AS Roma.
Totti yesterday dropped the bombshell he could quit Roma after being benched in recent games.
But former Roma coach Spalletti insists: "Totti is the history of Roma, the club, and I think that he is an intelligent man.
"He has always treated me in the right way and will also play the role of leader when not being used continuously. I'd say you'd be wrong to think of Totti being finished, he has the quality to do more in his career for several years.
"Totti will stay and will close his career with Roma because he cares about the future of club and created a contract that sees him as the player the club will build it's image around.
"I do not see why he should leave Roma."
