Zarate agent: Inter Milan chief Ausilio saw off Real Madrid, Juventus competition

The agent of Dilan Zarate has explained his move to Inter Milan.

Alberto Botines has likened Zarate to former Villarreal star and Real Oviedo midfielder Santi Cazorla.

Zarate has arrived from Girona and Botines said: "The idea of bringing him to Milan was born almost by chance, after a conversation with (Piero) Ausilio. We were talking a bit about everything, then the topic shifted to young people.

"Piero asked me if I had someone reliable to propose, I spoke to him about Zarate, specifying that another big Italian club was interested in him, in addition to the big Spanish ones, and so the Nerazzurri sent their scouts to observe him. They then quickly contacted me to tell me that they would like to see him in the Nerazzurri once he turned 16. Final word given on his birthday. Everything went according to plan.

"The reality is that it is an operation orchestrated by sporting director Ausilio. The credit for anticipating Juventus and Real Madrid goes to Piero.

“He could be a Santi Cazorla profile, he likes to play the ball, he is skilled with both feet."
