Zaccheroni admits Italy more efficient than Japan

Japan boss Alberto Zaccheroni was quick to admit that fellow countrymen Italy were much better in front of goal on Wednesday night.

Zaccheroni's Blue Samurai lost 4-3 to the Azzurri in their second Confederations Cup outing after leading by two goals early on and although it was an advance in performance on their opening match defeat to Brazil, their attacking efficiency was still not up to scratch.

"I was cautious to see how they would react after the Brazil game," he said.

"Even though we lost we played well. But we have to acknowledge that Italy are better than we are at making more use of their opportunities."
