David De Gea was again Manchester United's best player as they edged Newcastle United 1-0 on Wednesday.
The Spanish goalkeeper was Man of the Match in constantly denying the Magpies at St James' Park prior to Ashley Young's winner in the 89th minute.
De Gea has often been United's savior this season and once again his performance was noted by Young who felt it was vital for the Red Devils to keep a clean sheet and bring home three points as the pointy end of the Premier League table begins to get even sharper.
"He was magnificent again tonight," he told BT Sport.
"I think it was a hard-fought win - we knew we had to come here and get three points and we got our just rewards.
"In the first half we created many chances but we just couldn't put them away. We always knew we were going to get another chance and in the end it fell to me.
"We've heard the results - other people winning around us - so it was very important to get a win here."
The win allowed United to remain fourth on the table, a point behind third-placed Arsenal, and two ahead of the in-form Liverpool who occupy fifth position.
