YES HARRY! Kane breaks duck as Spurs thrash Man City

It was a famous day at White Hart Lane as Harry Kane broke his season duck and Tottenham thrashed Manchester City 4-1.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino made wholesale changes to the line-up that lost in midweek to Arsenal in the Capital One Cup. City manager Manuel Pellegrini sprung a double surprise, leaving goalkeeper Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany out of his XI.

It appeared business as usual when Kevin de Bruyne fired City ahead on 25 minutes. City sprung out quickly from a Tottenham corner, with Yaya Toure leading the charge. He had options right and left... and played in De Bruyne, who buried his shot past Hugo Lloris for his third goal in three starts for his new side.

Kane almost drew Spurs level three minutes before the break, only to be denied by City's stand-in keeper Willy Caballero.

However, just before halftime Eric Dier hammered home an equaliser for the hosts. The big utility collected a stray City pass from a corner and fired beyond Caballero to send Spurs into the break bouncing.

Five minutes into the second-half and Toby Alderweireld headed Spurs into the lead. The Belgian powered home from an Erik Lamela free-kick which had been won by Kane.

Ten minutes after the break Pellegrini hauled off Yaya Toure for Jesus Navas.

Barely five minutes later Kane fired Spurs 3-1 ahead. Christian Eriksen's free-kick thundered against Caballero's crossbar and Kane slotted home the rebound.

Lamela completed the rout on 79 minutes, barreling his way through on goal before beating Cabellero to cap off a stunning day for Spurs fans.
