Yakubu keen to continue scoring goals for Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni is emerging as the club's savior following his brilliant four-goal haul on the weekend.

The Nigerian netted all four goals for the Rovers as they broke a winless streak of eight games with a 4-2 home victory over Swansea City on Saturday and the former Middlesbrough and Everton man is looking to contribute more to the cause as the Ewood Park mob remain in the relegation zone.

"I always believe I can score goals no matter what league I play in," the scorer of nine league goals so far this season told the club's official website.

"There is a long way to go but I've done it wherever I've played.

"I had a lot of pressure from Paul Robinson and Chris Samba in the week to score.

"Putting pressure on players to perform is great and if we keep fighting like this we will be fine."
