Wu Lei has pledged his commitment to Espanyol.

The China international striker insists even if the Catalans are relegated this season he would follow them into the Segunda Division.

He snapped to the local Chinese press: "I have recently seen many followers and media who discuss whether I will return to China, in the event that the team goes down. It is a ridiculous idea, to be honest.

"This is my first club abroad and it is important for me. I strongly believe in the strength of Espanyol and I will not give up, although I would go back ten thousand steps if we really fall into the Segunda.

"Our level is not that of the last of LaLiga, but after the holidays and with a harder training, in the second half of the season we will recover the situation."
