Wolves are set to make a £12 million bid for a youngster from the English Championship.

Having sold many first team players this summer, Wolves are bidding for Blackburn Rovers' rising star Adam Wharton.

The Newcastle United target is not available, but Rovers would find it hard to turn down a big offer.

Crystal Palace, Everton, Brighton and Newcastle have all been linked to the midfielder.

The 19-year-old is seen as someone who is very comfortable on the ball, which is attracting Wolves to his signature.

If he does sign for Wolves, he would likely come in as a replacement for wantaway midfielder Matheus Nunes.

The latter is hoping to seal a late transfer to Manchester City, even as the clubs struggle to agree a fee.
