Wolves players convinced Lopetegui won't make Man Utd opener

Wolves players believe manager Julen Lopetegui could be sacked before their Premier League opener against Manchester United.

Lopetegui's future is in doubt after regularly complaining about a lack of spending this summer market.

The Spaniard has also seen the likes of Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves sold as his squad experiences a major downgrade.

The Daily Mail says Lopetegui's public criticism has angered the Wolves board and he could be removed before they kickoff their season against United this weekend.

And the players are said to be concerned that the former Spain and Real Madrid coach will be jettisoned before the opening day clash.

Talks with former Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil have been held by Wolves directors.
