Burnley have failed in a bid for Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

The Lancashire Telegraph says Burnley boss Brian Laws tested the water with Wolves about young Wales international Wayne Hennessey while in contact with the Black Country side during the signing of Iwelumo earlier this month.

But Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was only willing to consider a three-month deal for the 23-year-old.
