Sunderland striker Stephen Elliott is a target for Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.
The Journal says Wolves boss McCarthy was responsible for bringing Elliott to Sunderland when he used his knowledge of the Republic of Ireland international set-up to grab the unproven youngster from Manchester City's reserve team in 2004.
And the Yorkshireman is keen to work with the 23-year-old again, having seen him lose his automatic first-team place at Sunderland under Roy Keane last season.
