Wolves defender Christophe Berra admits his side should be among the favourites to go down this season.
Following the 1-0 home loss to Portsmouth on Saturday, Berra said the club did not expect an easy game from the previously winless Pompey and will now be definitely entangled in a relegation battle for most of the season.
"It's not like we came here thinking it was going to be an easy game," said Berra, signed from Hearts for £2.3million in January.
"Portsmouth are not in the Premier League for nothing.
"They've got quality players. We didn't expect anything less from them.
"It just never happened for us but we've only played badly once this season.
"There are going to be good and hard times ahead.
"We never came up thinking it was going to be easy.
"We knew when we came up we would be one of the favourites to go down.
"It is going to be right to the death."
