Wolves boss Bruno Lage says they aim to secure Ruben Neves to a new contract.
Neves' current deal runs to 2024.
The Portugal midfielder attracted interest from across Europe over the summer before eventually choosing to stay at Molineux.
"We need a little more time, but we are working on extending the contract with Ruben Neves," says Lage.
The midfielder has been playing for Wolves since the summer of 2017 and has a total of 218 appearances for the club.
