Wolves boss Terry Connor isn't surprised by the progress of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Mark Davies.
Connor worked with Davies at Wolves before he was snapped up by the Trotters.
"He could have stayed but chose to move to Bolton," said the Wolves boss.
"That was the path he chose. He'd been here since he was 10 years old and maybe wanted to see what was on offer elsewhere, and it was to a Premier League club, when we were in the Championship.
"Sometimes they (players) have to follow their own path.
"He had a lot of niggling injuries here and he's had a few at Bolton as well, but he's settled down and he's always been a good player.
"He was always going to mature into a good player.
"Each year he's got better and better and that was what we hoped he'd do, and there's still plenty of room for improvement.
"He's a really good player."
