Wolves are planning a £1.5 million bid for Aston Villa defender Liam Ridgewell.

Villa have agreed to sell centre-back Ridgewell, 22, as he is not part of boss Martin O'Neill's long-term plans.

Ridgewell is said to be impressed by Wolves' ambitions with Steve Morgan's impending £30m cash boost.
