VfL Wolfsburg are joining the battle for Aston Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley.

Cleverley is on-loan at Villa from Manchester United, where his contract will expire next month.

The midfielder is wanted in a permanent deal by Villa boss Tim Sherwood, while Everton are also keen.

However, Wolfsburg have now joined the battle.

The Germans see Cleverley as a potential replacement for Kevin de Bruyne.
