Wolfsburg loanee Schurrle thrilled to share title triumph with Chelsea

Andre Schurrle will be present at Chelsea's final match of the season on May 24.

The 24-year old German winger joined Wolfsburg on loan in January after spending the first half of the season with parent club Chelsea.

Schurrle managed 14 appearances for the Blues earlier in the campaign meaning he is eligible for a Premier League medal following the west London club's title triumph.

Upon hearing the news from manager Jose Mourinho, Schurrle admitted it was a thrill to be able to get the opportunity to share the moment with his teammates.

"I didn't know that I'd get a medal when I didn't play most of the second half of the season," he told BBC World Service's World Football programme.

"Jose Mourinho sent me a text to say that I'd get a medal and he asked me to come to the last game (against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on May 24). That was very nice for me.

"I'm really happy for the boys. They played a very good second half of the season so of course for me it's good to get a medal but the boys did the work."

Wolfsburg's Bundesliga campaign finished the day prior with an away trip to FC Cologne. The Wolves currently sit second on the table, 11 points behind champions Bayern Munich.
