The agent of Axel Witsel has held talks with Benfica about Manchester United's interest. Witsel is taken care of by James Anderson and O Jogo says the agent was in Lisbon last week to discuss the midfielder's future with Benfica.
United can sign Witsel for £34 million - the midfielder's buyout clause.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sees the youngster as a potential long-term successor for Paul Scholes.
