Dean Windass is confident he can do a job for Hull City in this season's Premiership.

Windass, in his second spell with the Tigers, said: "I hate talking about my age because it's just a number at the end of the day. I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League and if people start writing me off they are badly mistaken.

"If you had watched me training for the last month you would know I'm right up there with the younger lads in running and my fitness.

"While I know I won't be playing for Hull every week of next season, I know I will be ready when needed - whether to start or come off the bench. The manager knows he can rely on me."
