Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson hopes to stay next season.

Williamson knows Newcastle are in the market for a new centre-half.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I want to work hard in the summer and come back as fit as possible and fight for my place.

"It is a funny old game, you ever know what is around the corner, but hopefully we can win three points on Sunday and then enjoy our summer."
