Paul Scharner admits he's fallen out with Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce over his decision to return to international action with Austria.

"I have paid a high price for making my national comeback," Scharner is quoted in the Daily Star. "I'm in a difficult situation at Wigan and not getting on well with Steve Bruce at the moment.

"We will have to see how long this state of affairs goes on for.

"He said I shouldn't play against France last month, but I did and he seems to be resentful towards me. I will wait and see what happens."
