Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner is stalling on signing a new contract.

The Austrian has been a star of the Latics revival and manager Steve Bruce is keen to tie him down on a new deal.

But Scharner said: "The manager wants to talk about making it longer, but I said let's get the season over first."
