Wigan Athletic midfielder Jason Koumas believes he wouldn't be a Premiership player without the influence of Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson.

The pair worked together at West Brom and Koumas says: "Gary and me always got on well.

"He paid what was a lot of money in those days to take me from Tranmere to West Brom and I'm grateful he gave me that chance, because that has enabled me to be in The Premier League now at Wigan."
