Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is planning a £4 million swoop for Marseille right-winger Mathieu Valbuena - to replace Luis Antonio Valencia.
Martinez is keen on the Frenchman, who is just 5ft 5ins tall.
Sources in France claim Wigan have faxed an offer in the last 24 hours.
