Wigan Athletic remain in talks for Almeria midfielder Hernan Bernardello.
The Mirror says Latics boss Roberto Martinez is trying to broker a cut-price £2million deal for Bernardello.
The Spaniards are willing to sell the 24-year-old Argentine - who also has an Italian passport - following their relegation from La Liga.
Almeria want closer to £4m, but a move to Wigan could still be on the cards for this week.
