Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez will hold clear-the-air talks with want-away defender Paul Scharner.

The £6million-rated defender fancies a switch to a bigger club who are playing European football this summer.

And Martinez insists he does not want to keep anyone who no longer wants to play for the Latics.

He said: "If it is right for Wigan, we're not going to stop anyone leaving.

"We only want players who are desperate to play for us and want to win games on a consistent basis."
