Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says the Premier League's African players need to put career ahead of country.
Martinez has told African players they may miss out on big-money moves to the Premier League unless they put club before country.
Latics face losing Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone in the new year at the African Nations Cup in South Africa.
Martinez said: "There is going to be a point where managers decide not to sign African players because they know they will lose them for a month during the season."
