Wigan boss Martinez: I've told Whelan to buy new suit for Wembley!

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez knows the FA Cup final this Saturday will be a landmark moment for the club.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, 76, famously broke his leg in the 1960 FA Cup Final playing for Blackburn Rovers and he will lead the Latics players out at Wembley.

And Martinez revealed his boss has been a bit touchy over what to wear for the final.

"We've been having a bit of an argument because he doesn't want to get a new suit," Martinez said. "That's the only concern he has!

"But he is someone whose whole career changed after that FA Cup Final and he does feel, a little bit, that he's left with unfinished business.

"It's an incredible relationship between him and the FA Cup and it will be a very fitting moment when he leads the players out.

"It's got nothing to do with marketing. It's a pure football story. For what he has done for this football club he deserves to lead the team out and the story comes full circle with the FA Cup and Dave Whelan."
