Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is happy to develop ties with Swedish outfit Ostersunds.

Martinez sent young pair Joe Holt and Jon Routledge on-loan to Lee Makel's Ostersunds this week.

The Spaniard forged a link with the club during his time with Swansea, and sent a couple of young Swans over to Sweden in a similar venture.

Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post: "I have been there twice in pre-season and I know the club and the chairman inside out.

"The way they treat their players is second to none.

"It is a beautiful town, and they have really great facilities there. It will be an exciting challenge for the boys."
