Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez doesn't expect chairman Dave Whelan to step down anytime soon.
Whelan, 75, revealed last season that he was considering stepping down and handing over control of his sporting empire to his grandson.
Martinez said: "It's true that sometimes you go through spells where maybe you think it's time to move on or you feel that maybe you need to bring some fresh blood into the football club.
"Those were maybe the conversations in January and February when the chairman was in the press.
"Now he's brighter, and with more energy, than even when I first saw him back in '95 when I came to the club.
"I've never seen him so galvanised and vitalised. The ideas he's got are really exciting."
