Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Mancini is planning to raid Villarreal to boost his strike-force.

The Daily Mail says Wigan are looking to spring a surprise signing with a £5million bid for Villarreal striker Marco Ruben.

The 23-year-old Argentine has been scoring goals regularly with Villarreal's B team in the Spanish second division but has already been capped by his country and scored on his debut.
