Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is in advanced talks for Espanyol captain Raul Tamudo.
Sport says Martinez is ready to bring Tamudo to England on a three-year contract, but must find agreement with Espanyol over a fee for the centre-forward.
Espanyol want £2 million for the Spain international, while Martinez believes Tamudo should be allowed to leave the club on a free for his loyal service.
