Wife of Chelsea striker Morata speaks of armed robbery

The wife of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has spoken of the armed robbery she and her children suffered over the weekend.

Morata, on-loan with Atletico Madrid, was away on international duty with Spain for their game against the Faroe Islands and the robbers forced entry into his home in Madrid, which is situated in the lavish and prestigious neighbourhood of La Moraleja.

Alice Campello posted to social media: "I am still very annoyed and I think I will be living in fear for a long time. When something like this happens to you, it is very difficult to forget.

"It is one of those things that makes you appreciate how delicate and special life is. It is difficult to come to terms with the fact that your children are at home, a place where they are supposed to be safe, yet they could quite easily be taken away from you are harmed. Luckily, we are all okay, it could have been a lot worse. They have taken many things that meant so much to us but I am going to try not to think about it and instead think about my family. Thank you for all of your messages."
