Manchester United loan star Wout Weghorst's former Burnley teammate Ashley Westwood has opened up about their private chats.
The Dutch striker has signed for United for the rest of the season on loan from Burnley, having departed Besiktas in the winter.
While Weghorst was not a huge success during the time he played for Burnley, his ex-teammate Westwood had positive things to say about him.
Per The Mirror, he said: “To feet, technically, he [Weghorst] was outstanding. He gives them that presence when the balls come into the box.
“He's shown that in the World Cup. He actually texted me before I came out here [to Charlotte FC] so that was nice of him.
“It's [Man Utd] a great move for him and I'm sure the two goals in the World Cup [vs Argentina] would have helped him and I wish him all the success in the world because it's a fantastic opportunity for him."
