West Ham youngster Reece Oxford excited about Gladbach chance

West Ham youngster Reece Oxford is excited about his loan move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Oxford joined Borussia Monchengladbach on a season-long loan deal last month, with the German giants intending for him to replace Andreas Christensen, who has returned to Chelsea after two seasons in the Rhineland.

"I have spoken to the coach a few times to understand what he wants from me, what I should be doing out on the pitch and how the team goes about performing," Oxford told the club website. "I want to understand how German football works because up until now I have only played football in England, never in Germany.

"I've also tried to get to know as many of my teammates as possible and to get an idea of how the coach wants to play.

"I think the Bundesliga is the one most similar to the English Premier League. It's a strong and competitive division with big teams like Bayern [Munich], [Borussia] Dortmund and [Bayer] Leverkusen."
