West Ham winger Snodgrass insists Scotland can beat England

West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass believes Scotland were unlucky when they were defeated 3-0 by England in November, but he hopes that the loss will help to fuel his country when the Auld Enemies face off again on Saturday.

Last year's result severely impacted Scotland's hopes of qualifying out of Group F, but a late winner against Slovenia in March kept alive hopes of a first World Cup berth since 1998.

"It was shocking what happened down there, to be quite honest with you," said the 29 year-old of Scotland's loss to England.

"There were probably only three moments and a three-minute difference between the teams.

"Had we taken our chances we could have been victorious at Wembley. However, that's why these lads (England) are at the top at every level and in every position because they are guys who can score goals at any minute - but they can be got at."

"It just gives you that drive and feeling in your stomach that you are going to make things right come Saturday."

Scotland have not beaten England since 1998 when they defeated the Three Lions 1-0 at Wembley.
