West Ham to open new contract talks with Pedro Obiang

West Ham are ready to open new contract talks with Pedro Obiang.

Sky Sports says West Ham are keen to reward Obiang for the fine form he has shown this season, with the 24-year-old having become a regular starter under manager Slaven Bilic.

Obiang, who struggled to hold down a regular first-team place last season, has featured 27 times this campaign and scored his first goal for the club in the 3-1 victory over Southampton in February.

The Spanish midfielder joined the Hammers from Serie A side Sampdoria in June 2015 and has just over two years remaining on his current four-year contract.
