West Ham United have snapped up Stoke City defender Danny Collins.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce sent out an SOS to the Wales defender after it was confirmed that Winston Reid faces a further period on the sidelines.

Allardyce said: "We've needed to call Collins in because Winston Reid has had a long-term injury.

"Collins has experienced promotion with Sunderland twice so he knows what's needed."
