West Ham United boss Avram Grant is chasing Nice striker Loic Remy.
French sources say Grant has made the exciting forward his No1 transfer target this summer.
Remy has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and is also admired by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi said of Remy last season: "He has one of the greatest potentials in France and perhaps even in Europe over the next five years. But we are looking for a player who will enhance our strength very quickly because we lack this."
Grant has asked West Ham's new board to make an £8 million bid for Remy in the coming days.
