West Ham United's Scott Parker would claim this season's Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award of Avram Grant was voting for it.
The 30-year old midfielder has emerged as one of the prime movers in the Premier League in the past few seasons, in particular this term, where he has received a few England caps because of consistently brilliant performances.
Parker is on the shortlist for this season's award alongside Tottenham pair Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart, Arsenal's Samir Nasri, Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic and Blackpool star Charlie Adam but his manager feels that he is the worthy winner.
"What he has done this season has been unbelievable. I have never seen a player do more for a team than Scott Parker has done for this club," said Grant.
"When you choose a player you need to choose an example as well, how to behave in difficult times.
"We had difficult times in the first half of the season and he was there for us, he was there for the young players, he was there for the others.
"He showed high quality, scored goals, blocked shots and he was good for the national team in the last game.
"I think he is the player of the season."
