West Ham's Kiwi star Reid to miss up to 10 weeks

West Ham United defender Winston Reid will be sidelined for up to 10 weeks with an ankle injury.

The 25-year old centre-back was injured at Hammers training last week and has since been withdrawn from New Zealand's World Cup playoffs against Mexico this week and next.

The All Whites take on El Tri at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on Wednesday before hosting the CONCACAF outfit in Wellington the following week but will have to navigate the tricky two-leg matchup without their inspirational skipper.

Wes Ham have confirmed that Reid, who severely damaged ankle ligaments, will not play again at any level at least until the New Year and could be out until mid-January.
