West Ham United are ready to sell defender Matthew Upson.

The People says the Hammers are ready to cash in on club skipper Upson if he fails to sign a new contract on his return from the World Cup.

Upson, 31, only has a year left on his current deal and has been attracting interest from Tottenham, Manchester City and his former club Arsenal.

West Ham are facing major financial problems and are desperate to ease their crippling wage bill during the summer.
