West Ham United are closing on a deal for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.

The Mail on Sunday says Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is in London for talks.

Sampdoria have held talks with West Ham over the sale of Obiang.

They had asked West Ham for Enner Valencia as part of a deal but the London club are reluctant to sell the Ecuador striker.
