West Ham keeper Deniz Mehmet tipped for big things by FIFA
West Ham United goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet is being tipped as one to watch at this year's U17 World Cup.
The Turkey U17 international is rated the best of his generation and FIFA declared on their website: "Turkey's goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet showed just how much he has learnt at West Ham United's Academy, where he has followed in the footsteps of luminaries such as Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand."

I watched Deniz Mehmet play against Thurrock for West Ham reserves Last friday,I couldn't believe my ears when someone in the stand said he was only 16 years old,the saves he made were trully great.He was so good that my ten year old wanted his autograph(which he got).I often go to my local club(thurrock)to watch,and I can tell you that is one of the best goalkeeping display I've seen.Even the Thurrock manager(Hakan Hayrettin)was full of praise for the young keeper,talking to Thurrock tv he said he won the game for them.I will certainly be looking out for him in the future.

This boy is easily the best keeper in the country in his age group,I've been involved in football a very long time scouting for various clubs and this boy is the best I've seen.I was at West Ham training ground at little heath when they played Arsenal he came on second half when his team were already 3-1 down,he immediately pulled of a 1 on 1 save within seconds of coming on and he did that 3 or 4 more times as well as showing great handling from long range shots and taking crosses and non stop talking to his team mates.Talking to other people in this bussiness they tell me he is also a very nice boy, I wish him all the best in his career.
