West Ham United have joined Aston Villa's interest for Olympique Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The France international has been with the Ligue 1 outfit since 2021 after leaving the Gunners following a fallout with Mikel Arteta.

But that hasn't stopped English clubs from considering a move to bring him back.

Villa have been the most likely team to launch a bid before the end of the transfer window. But L'Equipe says David Moyes is tracking the 23-year-old ahead of a potential switch.

Aston Villa have been linked with making a move for the midfielder this month, and it is understood that he is the Midlands club's priority signing. The former Arsenal player has briefed friends about his future, and is understood to be aware of West Ham and Villa's interest.
